Dear Englewood Authors,
I hope this email finds your team well, happy and enjoying late November
thus far.
I'm reaching out on behalf of COG (www.cogzine.com) as we've found writers
identified from within groups like Sarasota Writers Group tend to submit
high-caliber work. Please consider sharing news with your writers regarding the
COG Poetry Awards and COG Page to Screen Awards, judged this year by U.S. Poet
Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera (poetry) and NPR/PRI Snap Judgment host Glynn
Washington (page to screen). The winner will receive:
Publication online and in the print issue, as well as a $1,000 prize.
A blurb about the winning piece by the appropriate final judge
Your story adapted as an animated short film, 2D animation, graphic novel
or series of interpretive illustrations by students in the celebrated Digital
Art & Animation and Digital Audio Technology programs at Cogswell
College.
“A literary contest is like a full moon. It casts a striking and comforting
glow across the bleak sky, and turns a small number of people into
werewolves.”
– Daniel Handler, AKA Lemony Snicket: final judge, last year's COG Page to
Screen Awards
Much respect, and many thanks for considering this invitation to spread the
word.
Best,
Sarah H, COG Copy Editor
