Writers Needed

WRITERS ON THE AIR!

North Port Community Radio WKDW-97.5 FM has graciously opened up their station and the adjoining Common Grounds Meeting Hall for an Open-Mic showcasing area creative writers.  Bud Buckley hosts a very successful Open-Mic, primarily for musicians on Wednesday evenings.  On Monday evenings, from 7 to 9PM, starting on Monday, Oct 3rd, the station will be open to poets, fiction writers, playwrights, storytellers and original practioners of the written word.  Original, creative and innovative writing is encouraged, so positive, uplifting works can be presented to the wider community.

There are many excellent writers and writing groups in the area and writers of all ages are encouraged to participate.  All area writing groups, school and college writers and teachers are invited.  Come in and have some fun, read your works and tell us about your group.

The format will be flexible, learning as we go along and a studio audience is highly welcomed.  WKDW is all volunteer, no one is paid, but donations and volunteer participation are welcomed.

All performances will be broadcast live on the air at 97.5 FM and online worldwide at KDWRadio.com.

Come into Common Grounds Meeting Hall, in the Springs Plaza, 12735 Tamiami Trail (US 41 N)  North Port, FL 34287  941-564-8739 on Mondays at about 6:30 pm to sign up to read or just watch the show.  This is an opportunity for both experienced and new writers to read live to a studio and radio audience.

Port Charlotte poet, Dobie Pasco, will host the first show and we will take it from there.  Come in and have fun, snack bar available!  WRITERS ON THE AIR!
