Reading to the Elderly Program

Remember, to send your reply to this message to me at pgholmes@comcast.net.

You may have already seen this, but it did not go to everyone and it is important, so here it is again.

I'm pleased to tell you that I've been very fortunate and found a new volunteer partner to help run the 'Reading to the Elderly Program'.

Her name is Lorna Ryan, and she lives in Englewood. She will be taking over responsibility for finding readers for each of the new facilities as they appear.

You will soon see that Lorna has already reached agreement with a new facility and Arlene is started reading at a facility in Punta Gorda so these facilities will need new readers.

With the background Lorna has she is very knowledgeable with regard to the way old folks receive their entertainment, and I know it is going to be a great help as this project begins to unfold.

As you know we have been working out the problems with our first facility Chelsea Place and are now going to use the knowledge we gained to make these other facilities work smoothly and efficiently.

One of the lessons that we learned at Chelsea Place was that if you make arrangements with the facility to read on a future date it Is very important that you also tell Lorna so she will know if other readers are required or not.

Should you wish to contact Lorna for any reason this is her email address:  Lornaryan4304@comcast.net and if you prefer to use the telephone her number is 941-999-4920.

If any of you would like to volunteer to manage facilities in your area then please contact Lorna as I'm sure she will need help as the project begins to expand.

Thanks again to all those who volunteered to read I'm sure you realize it is greatly appreciated.

Paul Holmes
